Consultation has concluded

Consultation on the State-wide Bushfire Hazards Overlay Code Amendment is currently open.

Council is not leading this process; the State Planning Commission (the Commission) and Plan SA are undertaking this community engagement process.

The Code Amendment seeks to update the spatial application of the bushfire hazard overlays to reflect recent bushfire hazard mapping, and review the policy contained in each of the overlays. The Code Amendment will seek to update existing bushfire hazard mapping and apply new bushfire hazard mapping based on investigations undertaken by the Commission.

More information about the code amendment, including FAQs and a map of affected properties, visit the Plan SA website

As the engagement process is being undertaken by the Commission and Plan SA, feedback should be provided in the following ways:

A number of drop-in information sessions will be held as an opportunity to meet with State Government staff to ask questions, share ideas or concerns and provide feedback. An information session will be held at the Golden Grove Recreation Centre on 22 February 2024 between 4pm and 7pm.

An online session is also available on Monday 19 February from 11am to 12 noon.

Go to plansaevents.eventbrite.com for more details about these information sessions and to book.

Feedback provided to Council may not be accepted by Plan SA as a formal submission during the consultation process and therefore may not be considered as part of the community engagement outcomes.

Your views will help update the hazard overlays and mapping to reflect current bushfire risk areas.
