Consultation has concluded

Outcomes

Alicante Reserve, Wynn Vale

This playground is focused towards younger users (up to 5 years old) due to the playground’s location next to housing, we have however included some equipment suitable for older children to play on including monkey bars, a carousel and a swing.

Verdant Reserve (Bent Court), Wynn Vale

The preferred style indicated in feedback is Adventure style play equipment which is in keeping with the style of equipment currently at the reserve.

Construction of the playgrounds at Alicante Reserve and Verdant Reserve (Bent Court), Wynn Vale anticipated to commence in 2023. We will use onsite signage to advise exact construction time frames.

Greenwith Oval (sports park), Greenwith

The upgrade will include replacement of the playground with new equipment and general landscape improvements.

New playground equipment will include two side by side basket swings and a new ‘adventure-style’ play unit (in line with community feedback on playground style) which will incorporate:

  • Rock climbing wall
  • Ladders
  • Multiple rope climbing frames
  • Balancing poles
  • Dual plastic slides

There will also be new shade sails to shade the play equipment, new seating, a bin, picnic setting, additional tree plantings and upgraded paths.

It is anticipated that works will commence late 2023/early 2024.

Background

As part of the Annual Business Plan 2021-2022, Council has allocated funding to replace ageing playground equipment and to complete general landscape beautification works at the following reserves:

These reserves are important open space and play resources for the local community. Before we finalise the concept plans for each playground, we would like to understand the community's views on what's proposed, preferences for playground style (for Verdant Reserve & Greenwith Oval) and any suggestions for playground equipment.

Easy Read information about these projects are also available for each playground/reserve.

Please see the relevant Documents section to the right for more information about these projects or click on the links above.
