Update

October 2024

The feedback received last year in relation to the draft plan was used to inform amendments to the Arts & Culture Plan. The amended plan was presented to the Service Review Committee on 20 August 2024 and at its meeting on 27 August 2024, Council adopted the City of Tea Tree Gully Arts and Culture Plan 2024-2028 as amended.

Based on the feedback provided, the strategic actions in the plan were reviewed and now that the Arts and Culture Plan has been endorsed, an action plan to be implemented by Council will be developed to achieve the goals of the plan.

Background

Council has developed a draft plan for how arts and culture activities can support the City of Tea Tree Gully Council area to be a vibrant and connected place.

In July/August 2022 we asked our community, including groups, organisations and individuals involved in delivering arts and culture activities within the City of Tea Tree Gully what they would like to see happening in our City and to help us develop a vision.

When we talk about arts and culture, it covers all sorts of things - live music, festivals, theatre, heritage, crafts, film, painting, dance, street art and everything in between.

The draft plan consists of a vision for arts & culture in the City of Tea Tree Gully and four goals:

  • Capacity building
  • Spaces and places
  • A culture for health, well-being and learning
  • Local heritage traditions are preserved and celebrated with associated objectives and potential actions.

We encourage our arts & culture community and broader community to provide feedback on the draft Arts & Culture Plan

All feedback will be considered before the Arts & Culture Plan is finalised.
