St Francis Xavier School 21+21 Years Proposed Lease
Background
Council is seeking feedback from the community about a proposed new 21+21 years lease for St Francis Xavier School. St Francis Xavier School is a Catholic educational institution located at 4 Carignane Street, Wynn Vale.
St Francis Xavier School operates under a lease agreement for a portion of land identified as CT 4007/690. The leased area is 2,060sqm and is currently used to create a Kaurna Garden by planting trees and shrubs and constructing walking trails on the land for educational purposes. The proposed long-term lease will allow for investment into the area by the school (subject to approval). The school intends to use the space as a garden to continue to support the school’s curriculum with a view to explore alternate uses like playground areas.
If approved, the proposal would mean that St Francis Xavier School will be granted a 21-year lease (as well as an option for a 21-year renewal extension). This will provide them with continued exclusive use of the triangular section of land (as per the aerial map). There are no changes to the leased area.
The proposed lease tenure of 21+21 years requested by Catholic Education South Australia, is designed to provide St Francis Xavier School with longer term stability, encourage investment in facilities and promote their ongoing sustainability.
Before providing feedback please review the Information Sheet and and aerial map showing the location of the proposed lease area for St Francis Xavier School.
