Council decision/outcomes

This revised plan was presented to Council at a meeting on Tuesday 9 November 2021 and at this meeting, Council endorsed the Tea Tree Gully Township Precinct Plan – 2021 Update.

At its meeting on 22 June 2021, the community engagement outcomes were presented to Council as part of an update report. Thirty nine (39) feedback form responses and an email submission were received.

The next step is to implement the actions and initiatives in the Precinct Plan over the coming years. This will involve:

  • Allocating people resources to guide or undertake the specific projects
  • Investigating opportunities for grant funding and partnerships.

Background

Council is currently undertaking a review of the Tea Tree Gully Township Precinct Plan (the Plan). In October 2012, Council endorsed the Plan which recognised the Township’s potential to offer local cultural and economic opportunities whilst preserving and enhancing its historic character.

Since the development of the Plan, a number of actions and initiatives have been implemented, including:

  • Anstey Hill Recreation Park gateway and entrance upgrade
  • Development of an additional community facility (Gallery 1855)
  • Heritage information signage
  • Linear Trail from Memorial Drive to Angove Park Drive
  • North East Road pedestrian connections
  • Pine Park upgrade
  • Street tree planting
  • Tea Tree Gully Memorial Oval and Hall upgrade.

A full list of the Plan's achievements and initiatives is available in the Document Library.

As part of the review, a local traffic study will be undertaken in targeted areas to assist with the development of options to improve pedestrian movement, safety, vehicle movement and parking within the Precinct.

To get involved and have your say:

Once the community engagement closes, all feedback that is received will be collated and used to guide the Tea Tree Gully Township Plan.

The plan indicates that this area will be more RV friendly. What is exactly meant by that. Will there be RV sites available for stopping overnight, and will there be a dump point available for waste water/sewerage from RVs.

RIK asked about 3 years ago

    Hi RIK

    Thank you for your query.

An “RV Friendly Town” is one that has met a set of guidelines set by the Campervan and Motorhome Club of Australia (CMCA) to provide certain amenities and services for RV travellers. Criteria to qualify as an “RV Friendly” sites includes proximity to a town centre, short term overnight parking, and access to potable water and an RV Waste Water Disposal Point.

Whilst the original 2012 TTG Township Precinct Plan mentioned the opportunity for the Township to be “RV Friendly”, Council is in the process of expanding its search for “RV Friendly” opportunities in other locations within the council area, which are yet to be determined.

    Kind regards

    Cherie
