Tilley Recreation Park - Draft concept plan for a new dog park
Update: This consultation has now closed. We are currently reviewing feedback received.
Background
We are inviting feedback on Tilley Recreation Park draft concept plan for a new dog park.
Tilley Recreation Park is a large recreation reserve in Surrey Downs featuring two grassed areas used mainly for soccer and athletics, community buildings, tennis courts, a playground and picnic and barbeque areas. Council is seeking feedback from the community regarding the draft concept plan for a new dog park at Tilley Recreation Park.
In early 2022, State government funding was received to deliver a new soccer clubroom and other park improvements in line with the Tilley Recreation Park Master plan. The master plan was then revised to capture the approved location of the new clubroom and provide a more resolved concept design for Tilley Recreation Park. It was developed in consultation with the community and sporting groups that currently use Tilley Recreation Park.
In October 2023, community engagement was undertaken on the revised master plan, in particular the inclusion of a dog park, which required amendments to the Tilley Recreation Park Community Land Management Plan.
Following the community engagement process, at its meeting on 30 January 2024, it was resolved that Council:
- Notes the findings of the community engagement undertaken on the Draft Tilley Recreation Park Masterplan and the proposed changes to the Tilley Recreation Park Community Land Management Plan to facilitate the inclusion of a dog park
- Endorses the amended Tilley Recreation Park Community Land Management Plan to facilitate the inclusion of a dog park
- Endorses the Tilley Recreation Park Masterplan document
